After being postponed on Tuesday, the FCIAC boys soccer playoffs will resume on Wednesday with the semifinals set for Fairfield Ludlowe.
No. 2 seed Trumbull takes on No. 3 Darien at 7 p.m. after No. 4 seed Staples and No. 8 New Canaan clash in the opener at 5 p.m.

The Eagles advanced after defeating Wilton 2-1 in penalty kicks (8-6) on Friday and the Blue Wave reached the semifinals with a 3-2 overtime victory over Westhill.
Staples, which is seeking a fourth consecutive FCIAC title, takes on New Canaan in the opener at 5 p.m. The Wreckers advanced with a 1-0 win over Greenwich and New Canaan stunned Norwalk 2-1, marking the second straight year that the Rams upset the top-seeded Bears in the quarterfinals.

The championship game, originally scheduled for McMahon, now will be played at Fairfield-Ludlowe on Friday at 7 p.m.
The FCIAC girls soccer playoffs are scheduled to resume with three quarterfinals on Wednesday with the higher seeds hosting the games. (One contest was played on Saturday as No. 5 seed Greenwich defeated No. 4 Darien, 1-0).
Here is the updated schedule (a time still hasn't been determined for the Trumbull-St. Joseph game).

The semifinals have been moved to Thursday (5 and 7 p.m.) at Norwalk with the final now set for Saturday at 2 p.m. at Fairfield Ludlowe.
The CIAC has announced that the state Open cross country meet, scheduled for Friday at Manchester's Wickham Park, has been postponed until next Tuesday.
The site of the meet also has been changed as the girls and boys races now will be take place at at Hammonasset State Park in Madison. The boys will start at 1:45 p.m., followed by the girls at 2:30 p.m.
Darien won the Class L boys championship on Saturday at Wickham Park, which is unavailable for the state Open because of damage it suffered in Saturday's snowstorm.
The Open competition will determine which runners qualify for the New England championships Nov. 12 at Ponaganset High School in North Scituate, R.I.
