The Trumbull boys and girls soccer teams will be involved in a unique doubleheader Friday as each will play Class LL state championship games at West Haven's Ken Strong Stadium.
The girls are up first as they take on No. 1 seed Glastonbury at 4 p.m. The boys, who are making their first finals appearance in school history, follow against top seed Pomperaug at 6:30 p.m.

The 18th-seeded Trumbull girls (11-4-6) are seeking their eighth state title against the undefeated Tomahawks (16-0-2). The Eagles beat three top-10 seeds en route to the final, including a 1-0 win over No. 6 Newtown in the semifinals.
Trumbull won consecutive state titles from 1996-99, added another in 2001, then reeled off three more in a row from 2006-08.

Prior to this season, the Trumbull boys had never been beyond the quarterfinals. The reigning FCIAC champions got to the final with a 3-1 win over No. 3 seed Norwalk in the semifinals.
Keith Bond, who is headed to Yale next year, had a goal and an assist against Norwalk. He leads the seventh-seeded Eagles (18-1-4) in scoring with 14 goals and 15 assists. Trumbull has 11 shutouts for the season.
Pomperaug (20-1-1) needed a goal in the final minute of the second half overtime to defeat No. 13 Guilford 2-1 in the semifinals. The Panthers' only loss came to Bunnell in the SWC championship.
