Trumbull Scores and Standings: Oct 10

The Trumbull boys soccer team (6-1-1) hosts town rival St. Joseph under the lights at McDougall Stadium on Monday (7).

The Eagles are coming off a 1-0 win over Bassick, which followed a hard-earned 1-1 tie against undefeated Staples.

The Cadets come into the match still winless at 0-6-3, but they have been playing better lately with three straight ties.

On Thursday, St. Joseph battled undefeated New Canaan, the defending CIAC Class L state champion, to a 1-1 draw on Thursday in perhaps the most surprising result in the FCIAC this season.

The Trumbull football team (2-1) slipped to 18th in the CIAC Class LL state rankings following Thursday's 36-12 loss to Greenwich. There are still nine teams unbeaten in the division.

St. Joseph, 4, McMahon 0 --  Alyssa Christo scored two goals and Sam Grasso and Katie Danaher each had one for the Cadets, who improved to 9-0
