After last week's scheduled contest at Catholic Memorial (Mass.) was cancelled in the second quarter due to a power failure, the Trumbull football team finally will open its season on Saturday at Westhill.
The Eagles, who were trailing 14-0 when the lights went out, won't have to worry about power outages this week because kickoff is at 1:30 p.m.

Westhill opened with a 28-22 loss to Trinity Catholic, but nearly erased a 28-21 deficit in the fourth quarter.
St. Joseph looks to rebound from last week's 21-7 loss to Staples when the Cadets visit Wilton for a 3:30 p.m.

The Warriors opened with an impressive 33-20 victory over Bridgeport Central. St. Joseph will have to contend with senior quarterback Sean Carroll, who made a number of plays in the win over Central.
THURSDAY'S RESULTS
Boys soccer
Trumbull 2, Norwalk 0 - Liam O'Sullivan and Anthony Teixeira scored for the Eagles, who handed Norwalk its first loss of the season. Trumbull has won all three of its games without shutouts, outscoring its opponents by a 13-0 margin. Included is a 10-0 season-opening win over Harding.
Danbury 2, St. Joseph 0 -- St. Joseph remained winless, dropping to 0-4
Field hockey
Staples 6, Trumbull 1 - Lisa Pulie had the only goal for the Eagles, who received 13 saves from Lily Bauer
