Unbeaten Cadets Meet McMahon Tonight

The boys basketball team looks to improve to 16-0 on Friday when the Cadets host McMahon at 7 p.m.
The Cadets (15-0, 13-0) escaped with a 67-65 victory over Westhill on Tuesday as James Jennings hit the winning basket with 11 seconds remaining to snap a 65-65 tie. St. Joseph has clinched an FCIAC playoff berth.

McMahon (2-13, 2-11), which was off on Tuesday, has been eliminated from postseason play.
The St. Joseph girls basketball team, which also has clinched an FCIAC playoff spot, visits McMahon in 5:30 p.m. start. The Cadets (14-3, 12-3) have moved back into first place in the FCIAC East.

Also Friday, the Trumbull boys visit Staples and the Trumbuull girls head to Westport to take on the Wreckers in a pair of 7 p.m. games.
The Trumbull boys (7-8, 6-7) likely need a win to stay alive in the FCIAC playoff race while the girls are tuning up for their FCIAC title defense.
Trumbull (15-2, 13-2) is looking to secure the No. 2 seed in the FCIAC playoffs, although the Eagles still have an outside chance to catch undefeated Danbury.
The Eagles are two games behind the undefeated Hatters with three to play, but visit Danbury on Monday.
