Cadets Face Ridgefield In Quarterfinals Today

The St. Joseph boys basketball team will take on Ridgefield in the quarterfinals of the Class LL state tournament on Monday.
As the top seed, the Cadets (22-1) normally would have hosted the game, but it was moved by the CIAC to Fairfield Warde to accommodate an expected large crowd. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m.
The first meeting between the teams, a 57-47 win by St. Joseph in Trumbull, sold out.

Ridgefield (18-6), the No. 9 seed, reached the quarterfinal with a 58-54 victory over Simsbury.

Theboys hockey team advanced to the semifinals of the Division II state tournament Friday with a 4-2 victory over FCIAC rival Wilton.
The Eagles improved to 15-9 and will take on top seed Guilford in the semifinals on Monday at the Ingalls Rink at Yale. Guilford advanced with a 4-3 over Suffield-Grandby-Windsor Locks.
Wilton finished the season at 11-12 after starting the year 0-7.
