Trumbull State Rep. Devlin Supports Uber Regulation

New legislation would institute safety and insurance standards on transportation network companies like Uber.

State Rep. Laura Devlin (R-Fairfield, Trumbull) supported legislation that would require transportation network companies like Uber to institute safety and insurance standards.

Under current law, there are no types of state regulation or oversight for such companies.

“Connecticut has a urgent need for jobs and companies like Uber and other ride-sharing businesses provide these opportunities for Connecticut residents,” she said. “Using smartphone technology to connect Connecticut rideshare companies with riders is the wave of the future... Uber when properly regulated - gives people a safe, easy and reliable alternative to driving while intoxicated.”
