Trumbull Town Council Passes Budget, New Parks and Rec Position

The parks and recreation departments will have a new director overseeing both departments.

The Trumbull Town Council approved the town budget Thursday night, including the addition of a director of parks and recreation position.

First Selectman Tim Herbst stepped outside of the council meeting to call the candidate who had been offered the job, according to the Trumbull Times.

Herbst called the candidate the A-Rod of parks and recreation departments.

A motion was raised to remove the position from the budget, but it was shot down by a majority of council members.

The overall budget is $160.5 million represents a 2.24 percent increase over the current year.
