Trumbull's Football Game At Catholic Memorial Cancelled
Powerage outage causes the cancellation of Friday's scheduled season opener for the Eagles

The Trumbull football team was supposed to open its season at Catholic Memorial (Mass.) on Friday night.
The game was cancelled after 16 minutes, however, because of a power outage. Trumbull will play its opener next Saturday at Westhill (1:30 p.m.).
The Eagles were trailing 14-0 when the lights went out with 6:25 remaining in the first half at the West Roxbury school.

"It’s just crazy,” Catholic Memorial coach head coach Alex Campea told West Roxbury Patch. “I’ve been coaching football for over 30 years and I’ve never been in a game where the lights just went out."
After a 30-minute delay, the game was called off and declared a no-contest.

There was no imediate word if the game will be made up. Trumbull is in action for the next nine weeks, meaning the only possible makeup date for the Eagles would be the week before the Eagles' Thanksgiving Day clash with St. Joseph.
