Weapons, Drugs Found After Police Locate Stolen Car In Trumbull: PD
Police said two people were arrested and drugs and guns were found after officers located a stolen car in Trumbull.

TRUMBULL, CT — Two people were arrested Wednesday night after officers located a stolen car in Trumbull, according to police.
In a news release, Police Lt. Brian Weir said officers noticed a Honda Passport that had been reported stolen from Meriden traveling near Daniel’s Farm Road around 9 p.m.
When officers tried to stop the car, the driver, Maureece Fussell, 25, of Wethersfield, drove the Honda toward the officers. He then struck a police vehicle, causing the Honda to become disabled between the police car and a tree in a Laurel Street yard, Weir said.

After Fussell and a passenger, Manasia Bennett, 20, of Middletown, ran from the car, officers chased after them on foot. Fussell was caught after being tackled to the ground and Bennett was found hiding nearby, Weir said.
Bennett was later taken to St. Vincent’s Hospital after reporting having difficulty breathing and Fussell was taken to Bridgeport Hospital for treatment of injuries, Weir said. They were both treated and released from the hospital under continual police custody.

Fussell was found to be in possession of over 40 bundles of fentanyl, two bags of crack cocaine packaged for sale, $1,000 cash and the key fob for the stolen Honda, Weir said.
Police also found two loaded semi-automatic firearms, a .40 caliber Glock with a 30-round extended magazine containing three bullets and a 9 millimeter Taurus with a 12-round magazine containing four bullets, during the arrest.
Bennett was charged with interfering with an officer, illegal possession of weapon in motor vehicle, criminal possession of a pistol, possession of drugs with intent to sell, possession of a controlled substance (first offense), carrying a pistol without a permit, illegal delivery/transfer of prohibited firearm and illegal possession of a large capacity magazine.
Fussell was charged with first-degree larceny, interfering with an officer, illegal possession of weapon in motor vehicle, criminal possession of a pistol, possession of drugs with intent to sell, possession of a controlled substance (first offense), carrying a pistol without a permit, illegal delivery/transfer of prohibited firearm, illegal possession of a large capacity magazine, reckless driving, engaging police in a pursuit and operating a motor vehicle without a license.
Bennett was held on a $250,000 bond and Fussell was held on a $260,000 bond. They are both scheduled to appear in court later this month.
