Woman Shoplifted from Four Trumbull Mall Stores: PD

Only one store wanted to press charges against the woman.

TRUMBULL, CT- A Bridgeport woman was arrested after she allegedly shoplifted from four stores at the Trumbull mall.

Police were contacted March 26 about a suspected shoplifter in custody at JCPenney. Elizabeth Fernandez, 43, allegedly took a pair of sunglasses and a scarf before going to the shoe area of the store, police said.

She realized she was being watched by security and dropped the shoes, but exited the store with the sunglasses and scarf without paying, police said.

The total value of items stolen from the store was $198. Police also found items from Victoria's Secret, Claire's and Macy's, but those stores didn't want to press charges.

She was charged with sixth-degree larceny. She also had four outstanding warrants for violation of conditions of release and failure to appear.
