Accused Bus Stalker Also Facing Charges for Rockville HS Incident
A man wearing orange sneakers has been charged in an alleged sexual assault and high school parking lot incident in Vernon, police said.

VERNON, CT — A Vernon man in orange sneakers accused of trying to corner and rape a woman after stalking her from a transit bus last October is also facing charges for allegedly loitering in the parking lot at Rockville High School and stealing items from a student's car, police records show.
The same orange basketball shoes did him in on the second investigation, police said.
Saige Yarde-Douglas, 25, already being held on a $750,000 bond for the bus stalking case, was charged on Jan. 12 with third-degree burglary, sixth-degree larceny and loitering on school property, according to a warrant. Another $5,000 was tacked into his court ante and he is due back before a judge for all charges on Feb. 9, records show.

The Rockville High School incident took place two days earlier, according to a warrant.
He was seen on parking lot cameras rummaging through a student's car and stealing several items. He discarded them along the adjoining rail trail and athletic fields and some of the item were returned by other students who found them, according to a warrant.

Police noticed the same orange Nike basketball shoes on the car burglar in school surveillance images that the near-rape victim described, according to a warrant. The shoes were then traced to Yarde-Douglas. according to a warrant.
On Oct. 12, man tried to corner and rape a woman after following her off a transit bus, Vernon police said.
Yarde-Douglas who lives at 32 Danny Trail, Vernon, was taken into custody by Vernon police shortly after, police said.
That evening, police were called to an apartment complex on Talcottville Road after receiving a report about a woman yelling for help. The woman gave police a description of the assailant and told police that Yarde-Douglas had followed her off a Connecticut Transit bus, according to a report.
She told police that when she was in a dark area near her apartment complex, he attacked her from behind, according to a report. He told police he did not want to hurt her, but said he had a gun, according to a report.
The woman continued to struggle and scream and a neighbor opened his window and shouted in the direction of the yelling and Yarde-Douglas ran away, according to a report.
A Vernon police officer located Yarde-Douglas on an adjacent street, according to a report. He was unarmed when found, police.
A Vernon police dog recovered an opened condom wrapper and a condom in the direction where Yarde-Douglas fled, according to a report.
Yarde-Douglas was charged with first-degree kidnapping with a firearm, attempted first-degree aggravated sexual assault, third-degree sexual assault, second-degree threatening, second-degree stalking, and third-degree assault, according to a report.
