Ackert Endorsed For Re-Election in 8th District
The state House district includes Tolland and Vernon.

VERNON, CT - State Rep. Tim Ackert has received the unanimous endorsement from the Republican Party for re-election in the 8th Assembly District.
The state House district includes Columbia, Coventry, Tolland and Vernon.
Matt O’Brien Jr. of Coventry, endorsed Tim Ackert stating, "Tim has done an excellent job representing the towns of Coventry, Vernon, Columbia and Tolland as our state representative for the past three terms. Tim is a veteran, a small business owner and loving family man. He has dedicated many, many hours to serving all of our communities. He works tirelessly to help all of his constituents that request it and makes certain that their concerns are heard and that help is offered or answers are provided. Beyond his work as a state representative Tim continues to volunteer with many organizations in our community."

Ackert’s endorsement was seconded by: Laura Bush of Vernon, who touted his "consistent support for students and Teachers in Connecticut."
She added, "Tim has been a politician we can be proud of. He answers your calls and responds with knowledgeable answers. If he doesn’t have the answer Tim knows who to turn to because of his experience as serving as our representative. As a teacher I can’t thank Tim enough for his work on the Education Committee on behalf of all teachers and the children of Connecticut."

Said Ackert, "It is my distinct honor to receive the endorsement again this year. Having served three terms has given me the opportunity to build relationship in both parties, with the state Senate and the governor’s office. Having built these relationships helps me get what I and others believe to be in the best interests of the people in the 8th district."
In the past Tim has served on committees in Public Health and Human Services. He currently serves on Education, Higher Education and Employment Advancement along with Energy and Technology. B
He currently serves as the ranking member of the Energy and Technology Committee.
“If re-elected, I will continue to work on behalf of our children and families in Connecticut, improve the business climate and make Connecticut a better state to retire in," he said.
