CONNECTICUT — That State Bond Commission Friday will be considering adding $25 million to the coffers of a company overseeing crumbling foundation aid.

The funds will be considered the fiscal year 2023 installment of funding to capitalize the Crumbling Foundations Assistance Fund for the purposes of the Connecticut Foundation Solutions Indemnity Company Inc.

The Connecticut Foundation Solutions Indemnity Company was set up to assist state residents with rebuilding crumbling foundations.

For yeas now, cracks have been showing up in home and building foundations because of concrete poured in the 1980s and 1990s, according to state officials.

A state reports indicates that the mineral pyrrhotite had compromised the concrete traced to Becker's Quarry in Stafford, the main source of concrete aggregate for the distributor J.J. Mottes company.
