Another Set Of Arrests Made In Vernon Stabbing, Bat Attack Case
2 were taken into custody early Monday in connection with an assault and stabbing incident in Vernon.

VERNON, CT — Vernon Police early Monday morning said they have arrested two local teens in connection with a bat assault and stabbing incident near the Ryefield condominium complex three days earlier.
The incident took place Friday at about 10:15 p.m. The complex is on Old Town Road, near Rockville High School. The rails-to-trails system connects the two properties.
The first juvenile is accused of being the person responsible for stabbing the teenage victim multiple times causing serious injuries, police said. The juvenile is also accused of cutting a second victim on a finger, causing minor injuries, police said. He was taken into custody at the Vernon Police Department during the early morning hours on Monday.

The second juvenile was responsible for striking the victim multiple times with a bat, causing serious injuries, police said. Police also believe the juvenile struck the second victim with the bat, causing additional injuries.
Police believe the attack took place at the same time and location as the stabbing. The second juvenile was taken into custody at his home without incident during the early morning hours on Monday.

Both juveniles were charged with:
- First-degree assault
- Conspiracy to Commit Assault in the first degree
- Second-degree assault
- Breach of peace
- Possession of a dangerous weapon
The two are currently being held in the Hartford Juvenile Detention Facility and are slated to appear in Rockville Juvenile Court Monday morning, police said.
The identities of the juveniles are not being released due to their age. Police did say they are 17-year-old Vernon residents.

The incident remains an active investigation and more arrests are expected, police said.
