VERNON, CT — Here are some important back to school notes for Vernon:
- First day of school for grades K-12 is Wednesday, Aug. 31.
- PK parent orientation is Wednesday, Aug. 31.
- First day of school for PK is Thursday, Sept. 1.
- Elementary class assignment letters will be mailed home on Friday, Aug. 19.
- Bus routes for the 2016/2017 school year will be posted on the school system Web site on Wednesday, Aug. 17.
- Back to School meet-and-greets will take place at each of the elementary schools on on Tuesday, Aug. 30, from 2:15 to 3 p.m.
