Clothing Bank In Vernon Needs Items For Back-To-School Event
The Cornerstone Clothing Bank is open again in Vernon and needs certain supplies for a back-to-school giveaway event.

VERNON, CT — The Cornerstone Clothing Bank is open again in Vernon and needs certain supplies for a back-to-school giveaway event scheduled for next month.
Needed most are children clothes, sneakers and backpacks for the annual back-to-school backpack event. The items can be new or gently used. The event opens on Aug. 7. The goal is to give each child client a new outfit and stuffed backpack to the first day of school.
Wide-ruled spiral notebooks and pens are also needed.

The clothing bank is located on the Downtown Rockville end of Prospect Street acrosss from the old Amerbelle factory.

The clothing bank is open Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Thursdays from Noon to 4 p.m.
New Procedures are in place:
- Only one adult from each household will be allowed to shop.
- No children younger than 18 will be allowed in.
- Clients must show an ID and use hand sanitizer.
- All clients must wear a mask (no exceptions)
- Clients must a social distance while outside in line and inside the store.
- Clients will be allowed in fice at a time.
- Clients will have 30 minutes to shop and be checked out so that others will be able to shop.
- Clients may still only come once a month.
Donations are now being accepted in the bin outside the door. Donations at the inside drop-off can be made Monday through Wednesday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. and on Thursdays from noon to 4 p.m.
