Coronavirus Testing Being Offered In Vernon
The town of Vernon and Priority Urgent Care are teaming up to offer Coronavirus testing.
VERNON, CT — The town of Vernon and Priority Urgent Care of Ellington are announcing a
partnership to offer coronavirus drive-up testing to the community this week.
Testing will be performed in the parking lot of the Vernon Senior Center, 135 Bolton Road, on Thursday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Testing will be available to anyone meeting the medical criteria regardless of insurance status or ability to pay.

Mayor Daniel Champagne said, "This testing is another step for the Vernon community to take in its coordinated action to combat COVID-19 and move forward with our recovery plans. Through this publicprivate partnership, we are increasing public access, reducing barriers and making testing more convenient for our community."
Pre-screening is "strongly encouraged to expedite the testing process." The pre-screening can be done through telemedicine evaluations at Priority Urgent Care (860-454-0678) or www.priorityuc.com.

Testing is available for patients older than 2 and minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. The testing site can only accommodate vehicles and no walk-up testing will be performed.
Anyone requiring assistance with access to testing should contact the Town of Vernon Joint Coordination Center at 860-896-4568.

The Centers for Disease Control currently lists the following symptoms of coronavirus:
Cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, along with at least two other symptoms: fever, chills, repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, new loss of taste or smell.
