Crash Leaves SUV, Truck, Burned Out On I-84 In Vernon
Responders battled a fiery crash in Vernon Thursday.

VERNON, CT — The charred remains of a box truck and sport utility vehicle were removed from a section of Interstate 84 in Vernon Thursday morning following a fiery crash.
Vernon Fire Department officials said several 911 calls reported the crash on the westbound side of the highway just prior to Exit 66 at 4:48 a.m. Responders encountered an SUV that had rear-ended a box truck that resulted in flames spreading to both vehicles, fire officials said.
All occupants managed to get out of the vehicles safely, fire officials said. One person was transported to an area hospital while the other involved was evaluated at the scene, fire officials said.
