East Windsor Man's Sunday Drive Through Vernon Goes Up In Smoke
He sped past a speed trap, state police said.

VERNON, CT - The tires were not the only things smoking as a car went whizzing by a state trooper at better than 90 mph on a stretch of Interstate-84 Sunday night, state police said.
And when the car was pulled over, an East Windsor man was charged with speeding and possessing drugs, according to an arrest report.
The scene unraveled at 9:46 p.m. Sunday when a trooper was stationed along the Westbound lanes near Exit 65, according to an arrest report. A trooper, armed with laser equipment, saw a vehicle coming toward him in the left-hand lane, speeding and passing other cars, according to an arrest report.

The trooper clocked the car going 91 mph and gave chase.
He pulled the car over, approached it and could smell marijuana smoke emanating from inside, according to an arrest report.

The driver, 34-year-old Christopher Muir, of 114 Windsorville Road in the Broad Brook section of East Windsor, consented to a search and the trooper found "a pill bottle containing narcotics," state police said. The formal charges for Muir were reckless driving and narcotics possession.
He is due in Rockville Superior Court on April 25, according to an arrest report. He posted a $2,500 bond, state police said.
