The public is invited to explore two private gardens in Rockville, open to the public for self-guided tours to benefit the Garden Conservancy. No reservations required; rain or shine. Begin at the garden of T.J. Woble, 43 Hale Street, which is walkable distance to the garden of Rosetta Pitkat.
The Woble garden is a work in progress and a garden created and sustained by the twenty-year friendship of Rosetta Pitkat and T.J. Woble. T.J.’s garden was created out of an overgrown plot of land complete with an 1889 house. It features stone walls, a sunken garden, and many perennial beds. A unique site you must see. The garden at Pitkat garden is sixty-five-years-old and still growing. It began those many years ago because friends gave Rosetta her first perennials and she started to work in the garden and enjoy it. Today, it is now a true cottage garden. You will also find a unique rock garden with a pergola, and a small vegetable garden.
