Family Health Center Coming to Vernon

The Hartford HealthCare facility is slated to open in August.

A new family health center will soon be open in Tri-City Plaza in Vernon.

The Hartford HealthCare facility is slated to open in August, with an open house/grand opening celebration for the community in September.

Hartford HealthCare broadly defines Family Health Centers as offering at least two health care services in a space of no less than 5,000 square feet. Core services typically include primary and walk-in or urgent care, as well as rehabilitation services.

In Vernon, there will also be a neurosciences center, with a movement disorders program.

“Hartford HealthCare family health centers are modeled around the community’s need, and every community is different,” said Media Relations Manager Tina Varona. “The family health center envisioned for Vernon will help improve the health status of the community by increasing access to primary and urgent care, as well as access to specialty services such as movement disorders and other neurological conditions.”

According to Varona, all of the services are based on community need.

“There is a thorough strategic planning process as our teams examine what services are available in the towns we serve and what services are lacking,” she said. “That is how a health care organization determines what it will build in a community and why services may differ from community to community.”
