Farmington Bank to Open Vernon Branch

A long-vacant commercial building in Vernon’s primary business district will soon become a branch office of Farmington Bank, the Journal Inquirer reported.

Blockbuster Video was the last business to operate at 135 Talcottville Road, but closed in 2012 when the corporation went bankrupt and ceased to exist.

Prior to Blockbuster, Connecticut National Bank and Fleet Bank had been located at the site, located just east of Jiffy Lube and Friendly’s.

A Farmington Bank executive told the newspaper the branch is scheduled to open in the first six months of 2016.
