Foreclosures Drop in State

Numbers are down 50 percent in Connecticut

During the second quarter, there was a nearly 51 percent decrease in Connecticut foreclosure filings to an estimated 3,267 compared with the same time last year, the Commercial Record and RealtyTrac are reporting today.

For the month of June, an estimated 948 foreclosure filings were reported, a 50 percent decrease from June 2010.

Nationwide, an estimated 1.17 million foreclosure filings were reported during the first half of the year, according to a statement. This is a 29.17 decrease compared to the first six months of 2010.
