Gospel Doo-Wop singer returning to Rockville on November 4
Walter Santos is "a blast from the past," says event organizer

Jacob’s Well Coffeehouse, downtown Rockville’s monthly Christian nightclub, will feature an encore performance of Gospel Doo-Wop by singer Walter Santos on Friday, November 4. Doors open at 7, with music starting at 7:30 pm. The café-style coffeehouse will be held at The Oasis, a renovated 1800’s storefront at 3 Elm Street in the Rockville section of Vernon. Admission and refreshments are free. Dress is casual.
Santos grew up in New York City and became a talented live concert and studio percussionist, performing with Weather Report, Charlie Daniels, Marshall Tucker and The Outlaws. However, the fast life of sex, drugs and rock ‘n roll led him to drug addiction. Come hear how he was delivered and has lived a radically transformed life. He is now an ordained pastor of a church in New Jersey, and a licensed chaplain.
"As a musical genre, Doo-Wop is gradually fading along with the 1950s and 1960s," says coffeehouse director Drew Crandall, "but we are delighted to have Walter returning to the Well. For aging Baby Boomers, it will be a fun and fascinating trip down memory lane. For younger people, this will be a rare, high-energy, eye-opening introduction to the wonderful world of Doo-Wop."
