Hyde Avenue Development Proposal Being Reviewed

Wetlands modifications are being reviewed in a Tuesday hearing.

VERNON, CT — The Vernon Inland Wetlands Commission is conducting a public hearing on Tuesday regarding an application of Hyde Park LLC that asks for a modification to a wetlands redesignation and a wetlands permit that could have the way for a multi-family and commercial development at 14 Hyde Ave.

The hearing is slated for 7 p.m. at Town Hall. The hearing was postponed from March 28.

The area of focus is a 29 acre parcel between Reservoir Road on the west and the Tolland County Agricultural Center on the east. Some of it is wetlands join Gage's Brook, the headwaters of the Tankerhoosen River.

South Grove Street, Reservoir Road near McDonald's and Hyde Avenue between United Bank and the shopping center are all entry points, according to site maps.

The proposal includes 11 multi-family residential buildings, and supporting features including parking, stormwater management areas and utilities, according to town records.
