
The inaugural show at the Vernon Community Arts Center has been put on the calendar.
It is a juried show scheduled for June 9 to July 8 to coincide with the Arts Center's grand opening.
Arts Center officials have issued an open call to any artist 16 and older working in any medium, including but not limited to drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, installation and multi-media.
There are no size restrictions.
The show will be juried by Patricia Hickson, the curator for contemporary arts at the Wadsworth Antheneum, along with international artists Christopher Mir and Joseph Fucigna.
Cash Prizes will be awarded to the best in show and first through third places.
The entry fee is $20 for one piece and $30 for up to three pieces.
Artwork can be dropped off to the VCAC, 709 Hartford Turnpike, on:
• Friday, May 25, from 3 to 6p.m.
• Saturday, May 26, from noon to 3 p.m.
• Sunday, May 27, from noon to 3 p.m.
An opening reception is scheduled for Saturday, June 9, from 5 to 8 p.m.
