Letter: Vernon Council Member Supports Janowski

To the Editor:

I have known and respected Claire Janowski for many years. Two of her many unique skills are leadership and compassion. These two important assets would greatly benefit Vernon with Claire as our mayor.Claire will lead the effort to bring new and sustainable businesses to Vernon with good planning and public safety in mind. That's why she will request a state Traffic Study on Rt. 83 for road and safety improvements. She is committed to attracting businesses that will provide a living wage to stimulate good paying jobs as well as increasing Vernon's tax base. We have enough “Dollar Stores” and empty buildings!!

Think of the benefits of Claire's plan: TRUE, well planned economic development lessens the burden on our property tax payers, property values will increase and people will have more money to spend locally. It will also strengthen our community making Vernon a desirable destination to move to once again, not away from.

Claire has proven time and again her compassion for us all. She will continue to take a leadership role in strengthening volunteer organizations that are dedicated to preserving and improving the well being of everyone in our community. Education, senior safety, respect for family values and a focus on our environment have always been Claire's strong points.
