Levick Shines With The Bat and The Books

RHS senior softball player drives home as many As as runs.

Brianna Levick is the lone senior on the Rockville High School softball team.  Levick has started all four years on the team and has made All-Conference for her first three years.

Her junior year she was an All-State selection.

But not only is Levick a star on the field, but off it as well.  She carries a 3.8 cumulative grade point average in the classroom and has volunteered numerous times with the unified sports program.  One would think that it could be tough tough for an all-state selection to keep up with her studies and keep her GPA that high all the time.

But not for Levick.

“It’s not that difficult,” she said. “You just have to manage your time really well.”

Levick started playing softball in the seventh grade.  Her favorite position is shortstop and she has been playing it ever since she began the sport.  So far this season, she has a .524 batting average, 22 hits (including five triples), and eight runs batted in.

Last year, she had a .562 batting average and was solid in the field with a .989 fielding percentage.

Levick said that her favorite moment in her high school softball career was the Rams' first game against Rocky Hill this year.  Rockville won the game 7-4 and Levick scored two runs.

“The Rocky Hill game was definitely my favorite game so far in my high school career,” Levick said. “It was just so great the way we came back and won that game.”

Levick will be attending Fairfield University next year to play for its softball team.  She is undecided on a major so far but it is interested in Secondary Education.
