VERNON, CT — An electrical line worker had what authorities are calling an "electrocution" scare Tuesday morning in Vernon.

The incident took place at 8:39 a.m. in the area of 240 West Main St.

When responders arrived, they were met by employees of Michels, a contractor performing tower and line work for Eversource, according to an incident report.

The injured employee experienced "a brief shock," but was alert and conscious and able to talk to police officers, according to a report.

Authorities said two employees were in an aloft bucket working on power lines when the incident occurred. The employee who was not injured was able to lower the bucket to the ground, according to a report.

The injured employee, a 29-year-old man, was treated at the scene and taken by ambulance to an area hospital, according to a report.

The injured man's name is not being released with authorities citing the medical nature of the call.
