VERNON, CT — The owner of a liquor store that opened in November on Route 83 in Vernon has purchased a former bounce house location a few doors down.

Vernon Director of Development Shaun Gately confirmed the transaction by Jagdev Toor, who owns Lazy Liquors at 212 Talcottville Road.

The former bounce house building is located at 234 Talcottville Road, the local address for the Route 83 parcel. It was recently vacated by the Kids Zone bounce house center that was called Jumpin' Johnny's before that.

Gately said Toor has secured a special use permit to perhaps move the liquor store a few doors up the road to the new place.

The current location of Lazy Liquors was a consolation prize for Toor. As far back as June 2020, Toor wanted to open up the liquor store at the strip shopping center to the west — 206 Talcottville Road — while also trying to acquire the plaza, Gately said. But in July 2020, Pro Health Physicians emerged at the anchor tenant for the plaza.

Toor then turned to a small set of stores to the east at 212 Talcottville Road, Gately said.

Toor also owns Toor Wine & Liquor at 406 Windsor Ave. in South Windsor.
