Loose Horses Roam Vernon Neighborhood Thursday
A couple of horses joined the morning commute in Vernon Thursday.
VERNON, CT — A couple of horses joined the morning commute on Thursday near the intersection of Kingsbury Avenue and Tolland Stage Road.
The call came into police headquarters shortly before 9 a.m.
The horses were spotted in a front yard by a neighbor, who then called his neighbor up the road, who owns the animals. He then stood near the side of the road to get passing motorists to slow down.

A Vernon animal control officer arrived at the scene shortly after the call came in and threw a block until the owner mobilized to retrieve the horses.
The horses were not hurt and did not come close to the road to endanger themselves.
