Malloy's Budget Revision Spares Vernon Major State Aid Cut

Vernon would only see a slight reduction in state aid - $17,000 - from what the General Assembly previously approved for fiscal year 2019.

VERNON, CT - The bad news keeps coming for Connecticut municipalities as the state attempts to claw out from under its budget mess.

Under Gov. Dannel P. Malloy's revised, proposed adjustments to the fiscal year 2019 budget previously adopted by the legislature state municipal aid would be cut nearly $100 million - both in the education and non-education side.

Vernon actually fares better than most towns - only getting a $17,000 reduction from its previously allotted $21.18 million to $21.17 million.
