Man Accused of Voyeurism at UConn Law Library Now Facing Peeping Tom Charges in Vernon

The case centers around secret cell phone camera images, police said.

VERNON, CT — A man accused of using his cell photo to record images of women in a UConn Law Library rest room is now facing two counts of voyeurism in Vernon, police said.

Yiyan Wang, 30, who now lives in Hartford, is due for a court appearance for the Law Library case on Jan. 18, court records indicate. He is out on $150,000 bond, according to court records. He also has a court date of Jan. 24 for the charges out of Vernon, according to court records.

Vernon police spokesman Det. Gary Jonas said analysis of the cell phone images led police to a case of him secretly recording a roommate when they lived in Vernon rental unit.

He posted a $5,000 bond for the Vernon case after his Wednesday arrest, police records show.

Most of the accusations of voyeurism against Wang related to incidents in June and July, court records indicate.

He is facing 15 counts of voyeurism in the law library case as well as single counts of disorderly conduct, according to court records. UConn police arrested him in the case.
