A man found In a stolen car had to be subdued with a taser while trying to run from Vernon police: report.

VERNON, CT — A New York City man who had to be subdued with a Taser in a stolen car incident in Vernon was to appear in court Monday to answer a bookload of charges, police said.

At 10 a.m. Friday, a Vernon officer located a disabled vehicle on Route 30 stopped in the left-hand turn lane heading west, according to a report.

A scan of the registration indicated the vehicle did not belong to the driver, 26-year-old Aaron Davis from Queens, NY, and was stolen out of New York, according to a report.

Davis initially lied to police about his date of birth, according to a report.

He tried to get away from police and had to be subdued with a Taser before being taken into custody, according to a report.

He was charged locally with:

  • Assault on a public safety officer
  • Second-degree breach of peace
  • Interfering with police
  • Operating an unregistered motor vehicle
  • Improper use of plates
  • Third-degree larceny
  • Driving without a license

The bond was set at $100,000 for the set of charges, police said.

Davis was also assigned a $500,000 bond for an extraditable warrant out of New York, according to a report.
