Man Robs Rockville Bar, Stabs Man, Then Gets Struck by Car
The man was eventually caught hiding in his home and faces serious charges.
A Rockville man was arrested late Thursday night after a bizarre series of events that began when he robbed a local bar.
Gene Kelly, 43, of 164 West Main Street, is charged with first-degree robbery, first-degree assault, carrying a dangerous weapon and sixth-degree larceny. His bond was set at $250,000.
Police say Kelly entered the Olde Rockville Tavern on West Main Street armed with a kitchen knife around 10:45 p.m., and ran off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

A bar patron chased Kelly and a fight ensued, during which Kelly stabbed the man. Another bar patron witnessed the stabbing and drove his car onto the sidewalk, hitting Kelly twice with the vehicle, police said.
Kelly was found hiding inside his home, police said.
