Man in Vernon Armed Confrontation Also Punched Pregnant Woman: Warrant

The man had punched a pregnant woman prior to the Wednesday incident, a warrant says.

VERNON, CT — A man who had an armed confrontation with Vernon police on Wednesday was charged on Thursday with violating a restraining order issued after he allegedly punched a pregnant woman in the stomach, according to a state police arrest warrant.

Thomas Marko, 31, was in court Wednesday to face the criminal attempt at second-degree assault, second-degree threatening, second-degree reckless endangerment, interfering, and second-degree breach of peace charges levied on him in the wake of a domestic violence incident that led to the clash with police.

State police then charged him with twice violating a restraining order issued for a May 2016 case in which he allegedly choked and punched in the stomach a woman who was five months pregnant with a child they parented together, according to a warrant.
