Monster Mouse Grillhouse: A Unique Business With Vernon Roots
The company brings the gourmet grilled cheese to festivals and fairs.

Mouse, cheese …
Monster?
Yeah, the whole name thing and the slogan of "Give CheeZe a Chance" makes sense when one looks at the menu.
Gourmet grilled cheeses - they makes the mouth water just thinking about it.
Welcome to the Monster Mouse Grillhouse, a traveling culinary road show that has become a new hit during the fair and festival season.
The Monster Mouse Grillhouse is owned and operated by the Grochmal family from Vernon and the Corriveau Family from Wallingford. It will be making one of its first prominent appearances locally at Tuesday's July in the Sky event in Downtown Rockville.
The Mouse serves up gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches, deep fried pickles (maybe that's the monster part), french fries, tomato soup and fried cheese curds. For dessert the stand offers tempura fried cheesecake with either a chocolate or strawberry topping.
Monster Mouse Grillhouse will also be at the Hartford/East Hartford fireworks display on Saturday.
Nancy Grochmal said the birth of Monster Mouse Grillhouse, took place about a year ago as "a concept to create a business that was an alternate food choice at fairs and festivals."
"We wanted a company that focused on top quality food and to have a fun environment to work in," she said "We created the Monster Mouse brand and began to develop our company."
Nancy Grochmal said the different menu has opened a few doors.
"Once they heard our menu, some places last year actually made a spot for us and believe it or not have all invited us back this year. It's wonderful to see the faces of moms when they stop by to read our menu and say 'you actually have a healthier choice for my children.'"
So what's Nancy's favorite?
Actually, I think we all have a different favorite - mine being grilled American cheese on white bread with thick slices of bacon and fresh tomato," she said. "But the crowds' favorite seems to be our signature sandwich which is called the High Rollers Club which consists of sharp cheddar and Havarti cheese, with smoked turkey, bacon, beer mustard, spring mix and tomato on white bread."
The Monster Mouse staff is currently are working on its Web site - www.monstermousegrillhouse.com.
