More Forums Slated For UConn/Old Vernon Senior Center Study

The University of Connecticut's Arts Administration program will host additional forums on a performng arts proposal in Vernon.

VERNON, CT — Mayor Daniel Champagne said Thursdsay that the University of Connecticut’s Arts Administration program will host additional forums to gather public opinion as part of the feasibility study for the development and management of a performing arts center at the former Vernon Senior Center.

The building is located at 26 Park Place. An auditorium is located on the second floor.

located at 135 Bolton Road. Sessions are scheduled for 11:15 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. for members of the Senior Center. Members can register for the sessions by contacting the Vernon Senior Center at 860-870-3680. Space is limited to 25 participants per session.

The second and third additional forums are on tap for Wednesday, Oct. 16, at Rockville High School, 70 Loveland Hill Road at 6 p.m. and on Thursday, Oct. 17 at Center Road School, 20 Center Road, at 6:30 p.m.

Both forums are being hosted by parent teacher organizations and all members
of the community are welcome to attend.
