Vernon was led by Alex Loomis on the mound and Matt Moytka behind the plate.
Other standouts for Vernon Were Jake Mansfield, Kevin Kozak and Adam Muszi in relief.
Kyle Tierney had a solid day with the bat Adam Brandt made a nice catch in left field.
District 8 9/10 tournament
Manchester National 7, Rockville 5
For Manchester Ethan Cox and Corey Roya pitched and combined for the win. Cameron Barry and Tyler Scheinblum were solid defensively. Alex Cantres led the team with a pair of hits.
For Rockville Kevin Smith had a good day on the mount. Joe Chatterton and Cam Boglin had two hits each.
Softball
9/10 tournament
South Windsor 10, Vernon 0
SW pitcher pitcher Maria Hanchuk and catcher Corey Callahan teamed up for a no-hitter. Amber Kelly added a big hit to aid the scoring.
Vernon had strong performances by by the battery of Mackenzie Correia and Anna Lockard. Sara Moss played well on the defense.
