There are 17 different age divisions and a special mother-daughter, mother-son division. The top three in each division will receive prizes. In addition to the main race, there will also be a special children's race.

There will be a free raffle for all runners that stay for the awards ceremony. Live family entertainment will be featured and there will be plenty of water, bagels and fruit available to the runners.  Race proceeds will benefit the Send A Kid To Camp Program, the Vernon Teen Center, the Police Explorers and the Robert J. Bonadies Scholarship Fund at Rockville High School.

"It's a rather flat course which is beneficial to runners the only real change is the slight incline from the Hale street extension to Grove street." said Bruce Watt of the  recreation department.

“The Mother’s Day Dash is a great way for residents to celebrate, thank and honor their Mothers on Mother’s Day,” Mayor Jason McCoy said. “The event affords residents the opportunity to spend time with their loved ones and neighbors, while simultaneously giving back to the community. I would like to thank all of the event’s sponsors, participants and the members of the Parks and Recreation Department for making this event possible. I hope that all of the mothers – and the participants - have an enjoyable morning and a great Mother’s Day.”
