New Department Created in Vernon School System

VERNON, CT — Vernon public school system officials have announced the appointment of Cynthia Zingler to the position of director of family, school and community partnerships.

The position is part of a new department called the Office of Family, School and Community Partnerships, based at the Central Office, officials said.

The department is, according to school system officials, "designed to provide structures to create life-long learners of Vernon students." The work will include, "implementing structures and supports around family engagement, supporting families for partnership around student learning, and coordination and collaboration with stakeholders to ensure access to available and appropriate resources."
