New Digs Tailor Made For Zahner's

The new store at the Shops at 30 officially opens.

The smiles around the store on Wednesday gave every indication that those at Zahner's were feeling a little more dapper in their new digs.

The move was announced in late April. Zahner's a clothier that has been around for about six decades, decided to move down Route 30 a few hundred yards to the Shops at 30 - officially 435 Hartford Turnpike. The store is now a neighbor of Rein's Deli.

Owner Scott Zahner said the 2,200-square-foot location is slightly smaller than the old location, but quickly added that the layer gives off "more of a shop feel.''

The sign was even tweaked slightly to now read Zahner's Fine Apparel.

Representatives from the Chamber of Commerce, the town, and the Rockville Downtown Association were on hand to cut the ceremonial ribbon and officially open the business.

Zahner's specializes in menswear like suits, jackets and ties, but also services East Catholic High School, and area emergency medical personnel and firefighters with uniforms. The store also provides corporations with logo wear.

It also supplies formal wear, as evidenced by the members of a wedding party who came in to try on their tuxedos.
