Officers, Dog Pick off Crack Stash After Window Tint Stop in Vernon
Drugs were confiscated early Friday morning, police said.

VERNON, CT — An alert police officer and a thorough search by a trained canine led to the seizure of sizable stashes of crack and pot, an arrest report indicates.
At 1:11 Friday morning, Officer Cody Flanagan stopped a blue Infinity G73, on High Street because of a window tint violation, according to an arrest report. He smelled a strong odor or marijuana as he approached the car and called in Officer Jeff Condon and police dog Tengo to assist, according to an arrest report.
Tengo then alerted the officers to the presence of drugs in the car, according to an arrest report.

What police described as "a small rock" of crack cocaine was located under the driver's seat and a bigger stash of crack that weighed in at 18.24 grams was found in the steering column of the vehicle, according to an arrest report.
A search also yielded 28 grams of pot in a glass jar in the trunk, according to an arrest report.

The driver of the car was identified as 24-year-old Freddy Williams, who lived at 75 High Street, according to an arrest report.
He was charged with:
- The sale of a hallucinogen
- Narcotics possession
- Possession of marijuana
- Drug possession within 1,500 feet of a school
- The use of drug paraphernalia
- Illegal use of tinted glass
Williams was held overnight on a $50,000 bond and was t appear in court on Friday, police said.
