Picture Vernon: Road A Little Less Traveled 50 Years Ago

VERNON, CT — This week's installment of the Picture Vernon series takes us down Route 83, about a half-century back in time.

It's an old Vernon Police Department file photo and shows Talcottville Road (Route 83) looking north from the "Vernon Circle," area, circa 1960. The trailer homes occupy the area that later became the entrance to Tri City Plaza, according to police records.
