Vernon police said no major detours will be set up for Sunday's Mothers Day Dash Road Race.
Officials will be setting up at 9:30 a.m., police said.
The annual 5K road race traditionally draws about 500 people.
The race begins at Henry Park and heads east on South Street to Route 30 (.6 miles). It proceeds east on Route 30 to Grove Street (.2 miles), then north on Grove Street to Center Street (.3 miles). Runners continue east on Center Street to East Street (.2 miles) and then travel north on East Street to Hale Street, then west on Hale Street to Hale Street Ext. then Lewis Street (.4 miles). The race finishes up from Lewis Street to White Street to South Street (.4 miles) then west on South Street back to Henry Park (.4 miles).
Vernon police said that because of the short distances the runner will be traveling on each road, no detours are being planned. Traffic will instead be stopped as necessary for each leg of the race, police said.
Traffic control posts will be set up at each intersection on the race course and streets will remain open when not occupied by runners, police said.
