Presidents Day Trash Schedule Posted In Vernon

VERNON, CT — The Presidents Day holiday has prompted a change in the Vernon trash and recycling pickup schedule.

The Vernon Public Works Department will be closed on Monday in observance of Presidents Day. Refuse and recycling will not be collected on that day, but will instead be collected the following day along with Tuesday's regular collection.

Excess refuse and recycling may be brought to the Vernon Transfer Station free of charge, year-round on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on and Sundays from noon to 4 p.m.

The Transfer Station will be closed on Feb. 14.
