RHS Girls Tennis Team Falls to Southington

Rockville's Hilton plays a competitive match, but Rams come up short.

The Rockville High School girls tennis team suffered a shutout loss at Southington on Monday.

In singles play, Emily Sherwill of Southington defeated Rockville's Meagan Donahue, 6-2, 6-2 and Corinne Horoozy of Southington defeated Julie Granger of Rockville, 6-0, 6-1.

Rockville's Hannah Hilton played a competitive match against Alejandra Gimenez of Southington, but came out on the short end of a 6-4, 6-3 score.

In the final singles match, Courtney Race of Southington defeated Ally Johnson of Rockville, 6-0 6-0.

In doubles, Kelley Hwang and Andrea Rosimos of Southington defeated Meagan Leopard and Pam Graves of Rockville, 6-0, 6-1; Natasha Lange and Annette Kaminski of Southington defeated Sara Shane and Chantelle Moodie of Rockville,  6-1, 6-0; Emily Hepson and Katharine Otis of Southington defeated Elizabeth Buxton and Katherine Cutting of Rockville, 6-0, 6-1.
 
The Rams dropped to 0-3 and play next on Wednesday at East Hartford.
