Rockville High School junior Winona Scheff has been chosen to attend the prestigious New England Young Writers' Conference.

Rockville High School junior Winona Scheff has been chosen to attend the prestigious New England Young Writers’ Conference at Bread Loaf, the oldest writers’ conference in the country held at Middlebury College in Vermont. The event, which runs this year from May 14 to May 17, 2015, gathers the best young writers from New England and New York and offers them an opportunity to learn with renowned fiction writers, essayists, poets, playwrights, song lyricists, professors, and fellow high school students. Admission is highly competitive and dependent upon the applicants’ writing abilities.
Bread Loaf has counted among its faculty members numerous distinguished teachers and scholars, but no one has been identified with Bread Loaf more than Robert Frost, who first came to the school in 1921 and returned nearly every summer for 42 years.
