RHS Student's Poem To Be Published in Major Student Journal

VERNON, CT — A poem by Rockville High School Student Mechelle Horelick will be published in the 2017 Aerie International magazine, school officials announced Monday.

School officials said Aerie International was born of a desire to offer outstanding young writers and artists an opportunity to share, edit, and publish their work internationally.

The journal is unique in that it has been designed and produced by an editorial board composed solely of high school students. The magazine draws not only on universal themes but also on the particular images, colors, sounds, and rhythms of the places from which the contributing writers and artists originate, including Canada, South Africa, India, and the United States.
